In this talk I will present how Walki Group designs novel packaging material solutions that are in line with prevailing recommendations and legislation concerning sustainability and material circularity.
What can you tell us about the coated paper structure that have been designed?
The coated paper structures discussed in the talk are based on multilayer structures where the chemical structure and thickness of each layer has been critically selected and optimised to live up to the requirements concerning economics, functionality, end-use and circularity.
Can the industry achieve high-performance flexible packaging without compromising recyclability?
It will not be straightforward but by combining knowledge in material science, chemistry and industrial processing with novel thinking we at Walki think we will be able to come up with a solution. As we say at Walki Group: We accept the challenge!
What do you see as current industry challenges?
Finding a good combination of economics and processability of novel sustainable raw materials that live up to the requirements concerning functionality and circular thinking.
What are you most looking forward to at Specialty Papers Europe?
To have the opportunity to meet and discuss with experts and with people in general having an interest in the field of paper-based packaging.
